The Jordan River is associated with some other most important events in the Bible. Joshua, Elijah, Elisha, John the Baptist, and Jesus Christ all crossed it during their lifetimes.

Bethany-Beyond-the Jordan area is also the place of the ascension of the Prophet Elijah into heaven, which is commemorated at a hill called Tell Mar Elias.

The Baptism Site : I was very happyyyyy to be there...Wowww..that is really the place where Jesus Christ was baptized :

As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water. At that moment Heaven was opened, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on Him. And a voice from Heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased."
