Madaba is located 30 kilometres southwest of the capital Amman.
The famous St. George's Greek Orthodox Church is in Madaba. The church was built in 1896 A.D.

The 6th Century Mosaic Map at the floor of St. George’s Church:
The mosaic was constructed 560 A.D. & once contained more than 2 million pieces.
The mosaic was a detailed map of Jerusalem as it appeared at the height of the Byzantine period.
