THAILAND - Bangkok

THAILAND - Bangkok

"Sawadee ka.." (= Hello in Thai from a female, if you're a male say "Sawadee krup...")

Bangkok is the capital of Thailand. It is a very nice place to visit for cultural sightseeing, eating, and shopping. Don't forget to visit the weekend market and experience the fun of Bangkok's floating market..!

Welcome to Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Bangkok.. :)

I stayed 4 days 3 nights at Courtyard Marriott Hotel, Bangkok.. Very nice Hotel..!

How to get around Bangkok? Bangkok has nice taxis, trains, river crossing ferries, express boats, and tuk-tuks. The easiest and most convenient way to get around Bangkok is by taxi.

I took everything in Bangkok : taxis (most of time), trains, a river crossing ferry (from city to Wat Arun), a boat (getting around Damnoen Saduak Floating Market), and I also tried a traditional tuk-tuk.

When I saw an auto rickshaw on the street, Thai people call it "Tuk-Tuk", and I really wanted to try taking this cute colorful "Tuk-Tuk" and it was so much fun :

First, I visited Wat Phra Kaew, is also known as Temple of the Emerald Buddha with full official name Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram, located at Na Phra Lan Road, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok:

What a beautiful decorative pillar! :)

Dancing at Wat Phra Kaew?? Hahaha... ;p

In the same complex, I also visited the famous The Grand Palace, the official residence of the Kings of Thailand from the 18th century onwards:

And I took a river ferry from Tha Tien Pier to Wat Pho and Wat Arun:

Wat Pho, is also known as Temple of Reclining Buddha, that measures 46 metres long and 15 metres high, and it is covered in gold leaf :

Wat Arun, is also known as Temple of the Dawn:

One of the most interesting places to visit in Bangkok is Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. This popular floating market is about 100 km southwest of Bangkok in Ratchaburi province:

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is very interesting because it attracts many tourists to see traditional way for shopping. They sell colourful fruits, vegetables, meals, and handicrafts in their small boats.

If you like shopping, don't forget to visit Chatuchak Weekend Market too. It is the largest market in Thailand, which contains more than 8,000 stalls. Please remember that it is "Weekend Market", means most stalls only open on Saturdays and Sundays.

Chatuchak Weekend Market offers a wide variety of products including household items, clothings, Thai handicrafts, animals, foods, and drinks.

Hmm...traditional Thai Food at Chatuchak Weekend Market  :

Don't forget to try Fresh Thai Coconut..so refreshing.. :)

If you like spicy food, you will definitely like Thai food.. :) I like spicy food very much, so I think every meal that I tried in Bangkok was very nice.. :)

*Pad Thai:

*Tom Yum Soup:

*Pineapple Fried Rice :

*Papaya Salad with crab:

And Bangkok Trip would not be complete without taking some pictures with a Thai Elephant: Hahahaha... ;p

"Kop khun ka" for reading this post..  (= Thank you in Thai from a female, if you're a male say "Kop khun krup..")
